Modern Languages Program

Language Fair

We are pleased to announce the third annual Language Fair at Dixie State University (DSU).

This event is sponsored by DSU’s Department of History, Humanities, and Modern Languages and its Spanish Program to offer Southern Utah K-12 schools a venue to highlight students’ achievements in the acquisition of Spanish as a second language.

We acknowledge the contributions of Washington County School District’s teachers for organizing specific sections of Uathlán and preparing their students for the Spanish Language Skills Competition.

We hope that the these efforts will help promote the learning of languages and culture in Southern Utah, thus enhancing students’ humanistic perspective of their world, and honing of communication skills to face the demand of a global economy.

DSU Language Fair is truly a common effort. We have a debt of gratitude with Brigham Young University’s Department of Spanish and Portuguese that generously authorized us to use some of the initial materials contained in BYU’s Language Fair website.
