Dr. Emma Prendergast is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy. She is also the director of the Humanities Center and the Program Coordinator for the Humanities and Philosophy Program. Prior to coming to Utah Tech, Dr. Prendergast was a Charlotte W. Newcombe Fellow. She received her PhD in Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2023. She is originally from the suburbs of Chicago and received her BA in Philosophy at Millikin University. Dr. Prendergast’s teaching and research interests include ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of education, philosophy of love, and history of philosophy. Outside of academia, she enjoys outdoor activities (especially hiking, canoeing, and cycling) and the musical arts (especially songwriting, singing, guitar, ukulele, and listening).
