De HE

De HE is an Assistant Professor of Chinese in the Department of History, Humanities, and Modern Languages at Utah Tech University. He also coordinates the Bridge Program between Utah Tech and the Washington County School District. He began teaching at Utah Tech as an adjunct instructor in 2021 and joined the faculty full-time in 2024.

 

Originally from China, De HE earned a BA in Business English (2004) and an MA in Ethnology (2010) from Guilin University of Technology. He later completed an MA in Education (2019) at Southern Utah University and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at Beijing Language and Culture University.

 

De HE’s teaching and research interests include Chinese language and culture instruction through authentic materials, as well as interdisciplinary studies connecting Chinese with fields such as Asian Studies, Tourism, and Hospitality. He is passionate about building educational exchange opportunities that connect the community with Chinese-speaking regions.

 

Outside the classroom, De HE enjoys spending time with his family and contributing to community initiatives that foster global connections.
